Guess what people? The holidays are coming! I know, I know, autumn has barely begun but I’m already seeing Christmas decorations in the stores. So naturally I’m starting to think about gifts for travel lovers.
One great gift idea I had the chance to sample is the Explore Local Box. It’s a monthly subscription service that lets you explore a different U.S. city each month through local products and food.
After traveling to amazing places in all 50 states, founder Jessica Larrabee loved meeting local artisans and entrepreneurs and wanted to bring unique, locally made items to others.
Explore Local Box: Nashville
I sampled the Explore Local Box for Nashville. Here’s what was included:
- TruBee honey sticks
- TruBee beeswax lip balm (I love this stuff!)
- Handmade gift cards & envelopes
- “I Walk the Lime” artisan soap (smells like a margarita!)
- Forage South Biscuit Mix
- Two Thompsons Prohibition Popcorn (a little whiskey in every batch!)
- Print poster of the Nashville skyline
- Postcard with a map and Nashville facts
It’s fun opening up a box and getting a little taste of products from local artisans. I especially loved the soap and lip balm. And I think I would have loved the biscuits, but I don’t think I cooked them properly. I kinda suck at cooking.
Explore Local Boxes are $34.99 per month, or $99.99 for a 3-month subscription. It’s a good value for all the stuff you get! They also offer a kids add-on for $10 more that includes a book or local toy geared towards children 4-10 years old. This makes the Explore Local Box fun for the whole family.
You can also purchase one-time gift boxes – a great idea if you know someone who is planning a trip to one of the cities featured!
Disclosure: I was given the Explore Local Box free of charge for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
