What’s the most challenging part of a ski vacation? Packing! Stuffing bulky sets of ski gear in your luggage and paying to check at least one additional bag just for your heavy-weight clothing can be a real bummer. Instead, try GetOutfitted and have ski clothing, helmets, skis, boots, and other gear delivered directly to your vacation location.
GetOutfitted offered me the opportunity to try out their service on my recent trip to Breckenridge, Colo. When I checked in at the resort, the front desk informed me that I had a package waiting. But I knew this already because GetOutfitted sent me emails detailing the shipping status of my gear – that was a nice perk! I appreciated the security of knowing my gear had been shipped to the resort before I even got on the plane.
It’s simple to sign up on their web site. Tell them what, when, and where you want to rent. After you order, you’ll get a follow-up email from a representative with a few additional questions. They asked me what colors I liked and I responded “any color except yellow.” But they must have read me wrong because you can see from the photos what color jacket I received! Not a big deal though, the color actually grew on me and my kids said it was easy to spot me in a crowd on the mountain.
It’s exciting enough checking in at a vacation destination, and GetOutfitted gives you the additional fun of unboxing your new gear! I love their tag line on the box: “Rent it. Rock it. Return it.” I rented a ski jacket, ski pants, gloves, and goggles. Everything fit perfectly and looked brand new, with the exception of the blue goggle lenses. The goggles came with two lenses for varying mountain conditions, and the blue ones were slightly scratched. But I loved the goggles and realized what terrible condition my own goggles were in once I wore a new pair! My favorite item was the jacket by Patagonia. The color notwithstanding, the jacket was comfortable, super warm, and had tons of pockets – an absolute requirement of mine!
When our ski week was done, returning the gear couldn’t have been any easier. I simply packed everything in the postage-paid bag and handed it to the front desk at check out. In the frenzy of packing everything up, I realized I forgot to pack the hood – which I had separated from the jacket. I contacted GetOutfitted and they sent me another postage-paid envelope to return the hood. Great customer service!

And even if you’re an avid skier like me, you simply cannot beat the convenience of GetOutfitted – not to mention the fun of rocking a new, stylish ski outfit!
