The Magical Forest Experience
The experience takes place outside – in an actual forest – and you’ll feel as if you’ve been whisked away to Hogwarts itself. As you wander through the twinkling trees and pathways, you’ll encounter Hagrid, Grawp, Buckbeak, centaurs, and various magical insects that populate the forest.
The attention to detail is incredible and some sections (like the life-sized Aragog!) could be a little scary for younger visitors.
As you walk the path through the Forbidden Forest, you’ll love the atmospheric lighting, ethereal sounds, and even a chance to engage in your own wand battle!
Tickets are timed to keep the crowds to a minimum. You’ll enter with a small group and you can walk through at your own pace. I didn’t feel crowded or rushed at any time.
At the end of the forest there’s a gift shop and food area.
Food at the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience
Looking for a snack to keep your strength up as you wander the Forbidden Forest? This experience has some delicious themed food offerings.
There’s a large food court with picnic tables, fire pits to roast marshmallows, and plenty of food and drink options. You’ll pass through this area before and after your walk through the forest. There are also some smaller food stands along the path.
Come hungry and try fish and chips, chicken tenders and fries, meat pies, or a full feast of roasted chicken, potatoes, bread, veggies, and gravy.
The desserts – cookies, donuts, cupcakes, pumpkin pasties and other pastries -were pretty delicious, too.
Thirsty? Of course you’ll want a butterbeer! You can also try alcoholic beverages such as a spiced cranberry mule or bellini. Non-alcoholic options include a cider house smash, spiced mulled cider, hot cocoa, coffee, soda, and water.
My favorite were the house hot chocolates, specially flavored for each Hogwarts house! Mint for Slytherin, vanilla for Ravenclaw, caramel for Gryffindor, and butterscotch for Hufflepuff.
